The hair becomes dry to many reasons. Excessive exposure to the sun, stress and overuse of hair care products are some of the causes of dry hair. The hair is also subjected to exposure to pollution, dust and climate changes on a daily basis. All of these can affect the hair adversely and make it dry and brittle. Natural Treatment For Dry Hair

Hair oil for dry hair helps to nourish the hair follicles and moisturize and soften the hair. It is advisable to warm the oil slightly before applying as this is more beneficial. Hot oil treatment for dry hair may be done on a regular basis for soft, healthy hair. It is advisable to massage the scalp and hair with warm oil twice or thrice a week. There are a wide variety of hair oils that could be used. Natural oils such as olive oil, almond oil and coconut oil work well. Coconut oil is one of the most commonly used hair oils. Regular use of coconut oil for dry hair helps to hydrate the hair and also prevents dandruff. It is also a great natural conditioner and helps to supply essential nutrients to the hair follicles. Coconut oil is especially beneficial for dry or damaged hair due to its hydrating and nourishing properties. Olive oil is also a beneficial natural oil with many health benefits. In order to massage the oil properly into the scalp, first divide the hair into four sections using a tail comb. Apply warm oil through each section. If the hair is too damaged, the sections may be wrapped in foil to allow for better absorption. Once the oil has been massaged into the scalp and along the hair shaft, allow it to remain for a minimum of thirty minutes. You can wrap a warm towel around the head during this time to allow the oil to penetrate deep into the hair follicles. Then wash with a mild shampoo.
