Some amount of hair loss occurs as part of the body’s natural process of renewal. New hair is constantly growing to replace the hair that falls out. However, in some cases this process may take place at much quicker pace due to a variety of factors. Hormonal fluctuations may result in hair loss. These changes may occur during pregnancy or on discontinuation of birth control pills. Another factor that is closely associated with hair loss is stress. Stress results in hormonal imbalances which can in turn lead to hair fall. Stress that is placed on the body such as crash dieting can also cause a great deal of hair fall.

Proper hair growth can be attained by ensuring overall health. Dietary habits play an important role in the state of the hair. Good hair growth is promoted by the intake of adequate vitamins and essential nutrients. Proper care of the hair is also necessary to ensure good growth. Use hair care products that are mild and do not contain too many chemicals. Most commercial shampoos available in the market today contain several harsh chemicals that end up doing more damage than good. These chemicals rob the scalp of its natural moisture and leave the hair dry and rough.

The ingredients used are natural, but it is still possible to trigger allergies in some cases.

A beneficial and gentle natural shampoo can be prepared using green tea bags, lemon juice, baking soda and olive oil. For this you need to steep two green tea bags in a cup of hot water for five minutes. Discard the tea bags and once the tea cools down, pour it into a spray bottle. Then add one tablespoon of baking soda, one teaspoon of lemon juice, one tablespoon of olive oil and a couple of drops of rosemary or any other essential oil. Fill the rest of the spray bottle with cool water, shake it well and use this in place of your regular shampoo.
